Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from your accommodation in Ulaanbaatar, followed by a scenic drive to Elsen Tasarkhai, famously known as the “Mini Gobi.” Here, golden sand dunes meet rolling grasslands and rugged rock formations, creating one of central Mongolia’s most captivating landscapes. Enjoy a one-hour camel ride across the dunes and take in the peaceful beauty of the surrounding countryside. After a day of exploration, unwind at a traditional ger camp beneath Mongolia’s vast open sky.

Discover the Orkhon Valley, where rolling green meadows, a winding river, and the distant Khangai Mountains create a spectacular backdrop. Experience Mongolia’s nomadic culture and enjoy a two-hour horseback ride through the beautiful countryside. You will also visit the impressive Orkhon Waterfall, cascading over rugged volcanic cliffs into a picturesque valley. In the evening, stay at a traditional ger guesthouse and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of rural Mongolia.

After breakfast, travel to Kharkhorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire from 1235 to 1263. Although now a small town, Kharkhorum remains one of Mongolia’s most important historical destinations. Visit the remarkable Erdene Zuu Monastery, founded in 1585 on the ruins of the ancient city, and explore the local museum, where fascinating archaeological finds and historical exhibits bring Mongolia’s rich imperial past to life. In the evening, relax at a traditional ger camp.

Day 4: Back to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, we will depart Kharkhorum and drive back to Ulaanbaatar, enjoying the changing landscapes of the Mongolian countryside along the way. Upon arrival in the capital, our driver will drop you off at your pre-booked hotel or guesthouse, bringing your journey through Mongolia to a close.
