This excursion will explore one of the most frequented national parks in Mongolia and enable you to immerse yourself in local culture alongside stunning landscapes. In addition to appreciating the stunning landscapes of Terelj National Park, exploring the historic city of Kharkhorin from the Great Mongol Empire, and observing the last genuinely wild horse, Takhi, you will have the opportunity to ride a Bactrian camel on the sand dunes and meet a nomadic family to gain insights into their distinct culture and way of life

At 8 am, your private tour guide and driver will meet you at your hotel to begin your journey to the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes – stunning dunes adorned with uncommon shrubs like willow, elm, and dogwood, along with a small forest by a river. This type of ecosystem is quite rare, featuring a blend of mountains, forests, steppes, and dunes all in one area. Following lunch at the tourist camp, we will meet a family of camel herders to learn about their distinctive nomadic way of life and take a ride on a two-humped Mongolian camel. Supper and stay overnight at the Tourist camp

Following breakfast, our journey proceeds to Kharkhorin, a minor village and a prominent tourist spot in the country. Historically, it served as the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire and was the most significant city in the history of the Silk Road. Once we arrive, we will explore the Karakorum museum and gain deeper insights into Mongolian history. Proceed with the tour to the remarkable and ancient Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdenezuu. Once you've finished your lunch, we'll embark on a 1.5-hour drive to Ugii Lake, the nearest freshwater lake to Ulaanbaatar. It is safeguarded by the International Ramsar Convention and serves as a crucial transit location for migrating birds. Arrive at the Ger camp located by the lake's edge. The remainder of the day is available for you to spend alone

This morning, travel to Hustai National Park, home to the world’s final wild horse (never tamed), Takhi. During the journey, stop by a nomadic family – immerse yourself in their lifestyle and savor dairy delicacies. When you arrive at Hustai, check out the small Ger information center that displays detailed information about the last remaining truly wild horses. Following lunch, enjoy a brief drive and stroll to capture images of the wild horses in their environment. You might also get the opportunity to capture images of roe deer, eagles, marmots, and various other wildlife

Day 4: Terelj


At 9:00 am, leave for Terelj National Park, the closest and most stunning attraction from the capital Ulaanbaatar. Here, you will discover the national park and observe Turtle Rock - the emblem of the National Park. Feel free to climb the rock if you wish. Additionally, walking to the Ariyabal meditation temple is a great option - once you arrive at the temple and reach the hilltop, the entire park view will delight you. Register at one of the top tourist camps and enjoy your dinner.

Day 5: Ulaanbaatar-- Genghis Khan's statue complex


Savor your lunch and embark on a brief drive to explore the “Genghis Khan Statue Complex,” home to the largest (40m tall) equestrian statue globally. You can enter and appreciate museums, gift shops. Explore Zaisan Memorial Hill, a well-known tourist spot and a key feature of Ulan Baatar due to the stunning vistas it provides of the city. You will be taken to the hotel at approximately 5pm
